I’m Susan, the heart behind Well Now Fitness—a wellness community developed for women like you (and me)—women who are navigating the shifting seasons of life, and who are ready to embrace health not just as a habit, but as a way of life.
With 30 years of experience as an educator, a black belt former martial arts instructor, and a certified group fitness and personal trainer, I bring a unique blend of knowledge, coaching, and compassion to every class and conversation.
Holistic wellness in my programs is not just a tagline or an add-on; it’s woven into every detail.

Hi, I’m Susan.
From the time I was a little girl climbing trees and skipping stones, I loved to move. Movement was my joy, my freedom, and my way of connecting to the wonder of life. In high school, organized sports like soccer helped me discover confidence and a sense of belonging—not because I was the best, but because I simply loved showing up and giving my best.
As I grew older, however, that simple joy slowly gave way to striving. In my pursuit of growth, especially through martial arts, I found success—earning a black belt and becoming a Sensei. Yet even as I climbed the ranks, I felt trapped in comparison, always trying harder but never feeling “enough.” Over time, I also realized that some of the spiritual practices and philosophies within the martial arts tradition didn’t fully align with my Christian faith. While I valued the discipline and strength I gained, I felt a growing pull to ground my wellness journey in a faith that reflected my deepest beliefs.
Through it all, God was working in my heart. I began to see that my identity could not be found in performance, appearance, or approval. True wellness had to touch every part of me—body, mind, soul, and spirit—and it had to be rooted firmly in Him. When I surrendered my journey to God, He led me to a freedom I didn’t know was possible. I stopped chasing perfection and started embracing the woman He created me to be.
After retiring from teaching in 2020, I became certified as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and a Revelation Wellness facilitator. And Well Now Fitness was born—a place where faith and fitness meet to create lasting transformation.
Today, I am passionate about walking alongside women who long to find true wellness—not by striving harder, but by embracing movement and wellness in a way that honors their whole being, creating space for faith to naturally become part of the process—whether they’re deeply rooted or just beginning to explore.

Our Heart in Action
At Well Now Fitness, wellness goes beyond workouts—it’s about showing up for women in every walk of life. That’s why a portion of every program is donated to Teen Challenge Canada for the Atlantic Hope Women’s Center in St. John’s, Newfoundland, supporting their incredible work in helping women overcome addiction and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. In addition to financial contributions, we’ve actively participated in the Annual Freedom Run, rallying members of our community to run or walk 5K in solidarity with women facing the uphill battle of addiction recovery. Over two events, we’ve raised more than $6,000 through this initiative—an effort that not only challenged us physically but also united us around a deeper cause: to stand with women on their journey toward freedom.
Because at Well Now Fitness, we believe every woman deserves the chance to thrive—body, mind, and spirit.
